JUSTICE IS SWEET

Why Wittenstein Law?

Wittenstein Law grew out of a family practice that started in 1959 and has served Queens and New York City for decades. Today, the firm combines that history with a modern, client-centered approach: clear explanations, realistic expectations, and a commitment to treating every case with care.

If you have a strong case, I’ll tell you why. If you don’t, I’ll explain that too—and what other options you might have.

My family has practiced law in New York since 1959. I understand the courts, the neighborhoods, and the realities of living and working in Queens.

Wittenstein Law – A Community-Centered Law Firm

At Wittenstein Law, we support people across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Nassau County during some of the hardest moments in their lives. Legal representation should feel human, accessible, and grounded in the community—never cold or corporate.

Our practice is built around four core areas that reflect the real needs of the people we serve:

ACCIDENTS
Guidance and support after motor vehicle collisions and other incidents.

CIVIL RIGHTS
Standing up for individuals facing discrimination, abuse of authority, or unlawful treatment.

MALPRACTICE
Helping people harmed by medical, legal, or professional negligence.

IMMIGRATION
Providing clarity, compassion, and affordable, supportive guidance for individuals and families navigating complex immigration systems.

No matter what brings you here, we offer a welcoming space, real answers, and a thoughtful path forward.

Support After Accidents

Accidents disrupt lives in an instant. Even a crash that seems “minor” at the scene can lead to weeks or months of pain, medical appointments, missed work, and unexpected bills. We help people navigate every stage of the process with clarity, patience, and practical guidance.

Accident-related cases often involve a mix of legal, medical, and insurance issues. We help clients understand:

  • Whether they qualify for No-Fault benefits

  • How to document injuries, treatments, and limitations

  • What deadlines apply (30-day No-Fault, 90-day forms, statute of limitations)

  • What evidence strengthens a claim (photos, witness names, medical records)

  • How to avoid mistakes—like giving recorded statements that hurt the case

  • How insurance companies evaluate injuries and damages

  • What realistic next steps look like, from treatment to settlement strategy

People often come to us feeling overwhelmed or unsure about what to do next. Our goal is to explain the process clearly, help you avoid pitfalls, and guide you step-by-step so you feel more in control of your situation.

Civil Rights

Civil rights cases demand sensitivity, honesty, and a clear understanding of what the law actually allows. We work with people who have experienced discrimination, wrongful arrest, false accusations, excessive force, retaliation, or abuse of authority by government agencies, police departments, schools, or other institutions.

These matters are often emotionally difficult and legally complex. Evidence, timelines, and documentation matter enormously, and early guidance can make a real difference. We help clients understand:

  • Whether the situation rises to the level of a civil rights violation

  • What types of claims may be available

  • What evidence is needed

  • What challenges or limitations may exist

  • Whether the case is likely to lead to compensation or another remedy

We listen carefully, explain honestly, and offer practical next steps. Even when a case is not viable, people deserve to know why—clearly and respectfully.

Malpractice

Medical, legal, and professional malpractice cases require a detailed review of what happened and whether it meets the legal definition of negligence. We help clients harmed by medical errors, misdiagnosis, surgical mistakes, treatment delays, professional negligence, or serious administrative failures.

These cases are complex and often misunderstood. A bad outcome is not always malpractice, and proving negligence requires meeting specific standards. We help clients understand:

  • What records and documents are needed

  • What the timeline reveals

  • Whether a breach of professional duty occurred

  • How damages are evaluated

  • Whether the case is strong enough to pursue

Our goal is clarity. We provide straight answers, realistic assessments, and supportive guidance—whether someone has a viable claim or simply needs help understanding what went wrong.

Immigration

Immigration matters are deeply personal and often life-changing. We help individuals and families with visas, green cards, naturalization, adjustment of status, family petitions, waivers, and other immigration pathways. Every situation is unique, and the process can be stressful, especially when documents, deadlines, and interviews are involved.

We provide affordable, compassionate support to help clients understand:

  • Which options they qualify for

  • What documents are required

  • How long the process may take

  • What challenges or red flags to prepare for

  • How to avoid mistakes that lead to delays or denials

Our goal is to make the immigration process less overwhelming and more accessible.

How We Support Injured People

When someone is injured — whether in a car accident, through negligence, or in another harmful situation — they deserve clarity, respect, and steady guidance. We help clients understand their options and take control of the process, even when everything feels confusing or overwhelming.

Our support includes:

  • Explained rights in plain language

  • Handling insurance company communication

  • Evidence gathering (records, photos, witnesses, timelines)

  • Coordinating with medical providers

  • Tracking critical deadlines

  • Evaluating damages and long-term impact

  • Avoiding mistakes that weaken claims

  • Honest assessments of what is realistic

You don’t have to push through this alone. We guide you step-by-step so you can focus on healing and rebuilding.

If You’ve Been Hurt in a Car Accident, You’re in the Right Place

Car accidents can cause physical pain, lost income, overwhelming paperwork, and emotional distress. Whether the collision happened on Queens Boulevard, Metropolitan Avenue, Yellowstone Boulevard, Union Turnpike, Woodhaven, or a quiet residential block, the impact on your life is real.

We help people in our community after:

  • Multi-vehicle collisions

  • Hit-and-run incidents

  • Rear-end and T-bone crashes

  • Uber/Lyft accidents

  • Taxi crashes (including Hereford cases)

  • Distracted or drunk driving collisions

  • Pedestrian and bicycle accidents

You’re not a case number. You’re our neighbor.
